2020 - good financial result of the State Forests Holding
The State Forests reported excellent results despite the ongoing pandemic, which significantly impacted the State Forests functioning. Józef Kubica, the State Forests director-general attributes this to the hard work of foresters and the costs reductions.
Michał Gzowski, the State Forests’ spokesman, informed that the total revenues of the State Forests amounted to over PLN 8.6 billion in 2020, which was 95.5 percent of the plan, with the plan’s initial assumption slightly over PLN 9 billion. The total costs amounted to over PLN 8 billion - 91.6%. of the plan (PLN 8.8 billion). The gross financial result for the whole of 2020 was PLN 515.5 million (net: PLN 487.6 million). In 2019, the gross result amounted to PLN 439.4 million. Initially, the National State Forests’ profit was planned to reach approx. PLN 178.7 million.
- Thanks to the involvement of foresters and their responsibility in difficult economic conditions made it possible for our company to generate savings, at the same time to fulfil contractual obligations and strengthen the condition of Polish forests - comments Józef Kubica, acting general director of LP. - The dynamics of forestry services outsourced to external entities was also maintained at a high level, these include new tree planting and the maintenance of young forests. This has resulted in maintenance and further development of the private market for forest services, with employment of around 50,000 people - the release informs.
From the earned profit, the LP will allocate PLN 17.5 million for socially useful purposes, incl. donations to volunteer fire brigades, schools, community organizations and cultural institutions. PLN 130.6 million will go to the forest fund.
