“30 chest compressions followed by 2 breaths”
The Łódź Road Safety Centre’s school of basic life support is run by Tadeusz Zagajewski; they will be staging first aid and life support demonstrations combined with first aid kits’ presentations as well as educational materials.
The paramedics were presenting step-by-step first-aid provision procedures in an accessible and easy to understand way; this allows to learn and quickly assimilate the rescue scheme. There are 4 presentations a day, each lasts a few minutes; they focus on cardio-vascular resuscitation and incident place assessment, patient’s state assessment, right procedures regarding injuries and traumas such as broken bones or haemorrhages.
“Each participant may use a large, professional phantom to gain have hand-on experience in cardio-vascular resuscitation, to develop the basic reactions which may save somebody’s health and life” – says Tadeusz Zagajewski, President of Board at CBRD PLC.
”People can come over their fears owing to such presentations and then to undertake actions; you remember the procedure better when you watch a step-by-step presentation. This includes the basic 30 chest compressions followed by two breaths when performing resuscitation on an adult person or mid-shoulder blade hits in the case of choke. People will know how to react in these uncommon situations” – adds Andrzej Radzewicz – one of the workshop participants.
