Andrzej Gołota at the AGROTECH Expo
The famous boxer began his morning visit to Targi Kielce by visiting the stand of the Świętokrzyskie company Defro and then he and his team went on a tour of the exhibition halls. AGROTECH welcomed the multiple champion who also met Michał Cieślak, Member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland.
This is not the end of the famous boxer's visit to Kielce. On Sunday, Andrzej Gołota is also the guest of honour at the Polish Boxing League match Rushh Kielce - Golden Team Nowy Sącz, which will take place at the Sports and Entertainment Hall in Żytnia Street.
Kielce was an essential point in the boxer's career; the capital of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship in 1988 witnessed him winning the title of Polish Champion in the heavy category (91 kg), and a few months later he won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Seoul.
Andrzej Gołota won the Polish Championship four times – in the years 1987–1990, three times in the heavyweight category and once in the super heavyweight category; in 1987 he won the prestigious Feliks Stamm Tournament. Earlier, in 1985, he won the title of Junior World Vice-Champion, and a year later he won the European Junior Championship. In the seniors’ league, the Old Continent bronze medal at the European Championships in 1989 was Gołota’s greatest achievement. This is another athlete who visited Targi Kielce; Arkadiusz Moryto and Kamil Jabłoński were featured guests of the Agrotech on saturday! Famous athletes met with their fans; to take photos, sign autographs and answer questions from enthusiasts. Kamil Jabłoński, world arm wrestling champion, prepared a professional arm wrestling stand, where he competed with fair visitors from the morning.
