The inaugural ceremony of the road engineering festival was held in Targi Kielce. The exhibition halls are flooded with the exhibitors of the AUTOSTRADA-POLSKA, TRAFFIC-EXPO - TIL and MASZBUD fairs.

The representatives of the state authorities, regional authorities, the largest companies and institutions associated with the road engineering sector as well as over a hundred journalists took part in the fair inaugural ceremony.

And among the guest gathered in the Targi Kielce Conference Centre there were, among others Cezary Grabarczyk, the Minister Infrastructure; professor Leszek Rafalski - General Director of the Road and Bridge Research Institute, and the President of the Academy of Engineering in Poland; Lech Witecki – the Director of the Directorate for National Roads and Motorways; Bożentyna Pałka-Koruba – Świętokrzyskie Voivode; Wojciech Lubawski, the Mayor of Kielce and Stefan Góralczyk, Director of the Institute of Mechanised Construction and Rock Mining.

The Minister Cezary Grabarczyk, in his speech during the opening ceremony said “Following the example of Targi Kielce, when after the great fire of one their exhibition halls they pulled their sleeves up, Polish government did exactly the same and providing additional finance for road construction. And owing to this, year after year the expenditure on road infrastructure in Poland has gradually increased”. And the guest gathered at the ceremony welcomed these words with the shower of applause.

The opening ceremony was accompanied by the „Polskie Drogi” publishing house, Road and Bridge Research Institute and Polish Chamber of Road Engineering award presentation ceremony.

AUTOSTRADA-POLSKA and the accompanying events have brought together862 companies which present their products on almost 33.000 square metres of exhibition space. These are one of the most prestigious and important fairs of this sector of business in Europe.
