Awards of the Foundry Commission of the Polish Academy of Sciences presented!
The main prize for the best master's thesis went to MSc. Bartosz Cieślik for "Cast, dispersion composite based on an iron alloy". The second prize went to MSc. Anna Woźniak for "Kinetics of drying in selected dried coatings at selected temperatures ". The third-degree award went to MSc. Patryk Kosar for "Technology of aluminium alloys preparation in terms of the quality of the castings".
The main award among the engineering diploma theses went to Eng. Krzysztof Glet for "Development of a die casting process for accessories made of the LM25 alloy permanent mould". The Competition Committee indicated the runner-up - Eng. Dariusz Żak for "Design of a system for automatic loading of the charge into the cupola". The third degree award - "Innovative methods of reducing the weight of internal combustion engines" was presented to Eng. Mateusz Kwiatkowski.
In addition to the main prizes, the members of the Competition Committee presented three awards for MSc. Engineer Joanna Pieńkowska for "Design and production of a jewellery set using the precision casting method", Engineer Szymon Piela for "Mechanization and automation of selected stages of die casting" and Engineer Michał Górnik for "Managing the flow of materials following the Lean Management concept on the example of a non-ferrous metal foundry".
18 engineering and master's theses were submitted to this year's edition of the competition. The Jury Panel composed of: Jan Szajnar, Professor Roman Wrona and Professor Tomasz Wróbel assessed the innovation of scientific and research topics, the originality of the design solution, the possibility of applying the results of the work and the assessment of the work by the reviewers of the Diploma Examination Committee.
