The host of the "On the Threshold" Foundation, a graduate of the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology of the University of Łódź, will host a conference held under the banner of "Future Funerals" - the second day of the International Funeral and Cemetery Industry Fair. The meeting on 8 April at Targi Kielce

has been put together by the Polish Funeral Association. The session is devoted to new needs and expectations regarding the farewell to the deceased nearest and dearest.

The conference is hosted by Monika Stasiak - anthropologist and celebrant. The "On the Threshold" Foundation creates secular rites of passage accompanying tipping points in human life. She prepares and conducts personal farewell ceremonies with the deceased person's loved ones tailored to their needs, sensitivity and value system. In the ceremonies she prepares, she uses words, symbolic gestures, and actions that help establish community and give the farewell a deep meaning. Monika Stasiak is a member of the Institute of Good Death collective and a graduate of the training courses conducted by the Institute:  "Creating a personal farewell", "A tender farewell - workshops on caring for the deceased". She is also inti education in the area of death and mourning. She hosts the Death Cafe meetings.
