07 september 2023
Third day of the 31st International Defence Industry Exhibition was extremely rich in signing pivotal agreements, debates and presentations of technological innovations. Mateusz Morawiecki - Poland's Prime Minister payid a visit to Targi Kielce on Thursday

Prime Minister signed a letter of intent for a new Krabs production line.

Since the the first day, MSPO has witnessed contracts and agreements signed. This business atmosphere is facilitated by the fact that the defense industry hosts representation of companies from 35 countries. Priority agreements are concluded at the expo stand of the Polish Armaments Group. On 7 September, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited the show. PM signed a letter of intent regarding co-financing the construction of the second production line for KRAB self-propelled howitzers.

– PLN 850 million from the state budget will go to the Bumar-Łabędy in Gliwice, allowing the company to launch a new production line, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced.  According to assumptions, about 50 vehicles will be produced.

The Polish Armaments Group has been the Strategic Partner of the International Defence Industry Exhibition.  – This event is a theatre where we can show every new piece of military equipment we have created. This equipment of high and proven quality (...) contributes to increasing the safety of Poland and its inhabitants - emphasised Sebastian Chwałek, President of PGZ.

The Polish Armaments Group  find 31st MSPO full of significant cooperation agreements. On the third day of the Exhibition, another partnership agreement was signed between PGZ SA and the Expert Cybersecurity Training Centre. The cooperation will increase the competence of the national cybersecurity system's entities in terms of threats awareness network attacks methods and will also boost the technical skills in counteracting threats in ICT systems.

Another important MSPO event - the conclusion of two agreements between MESKO and the Armaments Agency for the supply of ammunition to the Polish Armed Forces. The first one stipulates 23x152 mm anti-aircraft ammunition supply for ZU-23, ZSU-23 and ZUR-23 guns range and 30x173 mm practice ammunition with a tracer for ATK MK 44 Bushmaster II. The other contract concerns the supply of NSD-1, NSD-2 ammunition. The total value of both contracts is approximately PLN 100 million.

The Polish Armed Forces' logistics discussed at the National Security Bureau's debate

Debates are an integral part of the 31st  MSPO at Targi Kielce! The three days of the Exhibition witnessed experts discussing the defence sector, the arms industry and the development of the Polish army. On the third day of the fair, the National Security Bureau organised a strategic debate devoted to logistics processes in the Polish Armed Forces. – There is no better place to raise such a key and expert issue than Targi Kielce. The MSPO witnesses the visible and tangible change in the technological quality of the equipment  - said the head of the National Security Bureau, Minister Jacek Siewiera.  Army Generals and defence sector experts took part in the discussion.

– Logistics is the lifeblood of our army;  logistics is the war-winning factor - many people don't realise it. When there is a disproportion of forces, logistics makes it possible to to gain an advantage over your opponent - said Minister Jacek Siewiera.  – Logistics is underestimated as long as everything goes according to plan. However, whenever logistics collapses, all eyes are on it -  the Minister was echoed by Brigadier General Artur Kuptel PhD., head of the Armament Agency.

Ukraine's experience is a lesson learnt - it is clear that logistic security cannot be achieved by the army alone. Cooperation with the civilian forces and the facilities at its disposal is essential.  This is confirmed by the Małecki, president of Defence24: – Poland has the largest fleet of delivery vehicles in Europe. We have a railway network; however not that accessible because the average equipment loading time is 6 hours. However, there are special ramps that allow you to do it in 30 minutes.

Modern solutions and people with extraordinary powers at MSPO

Since the first day of the International Defence Industry Exhibition, there has been a plethora of technological innovations presentations; these have proven extremely popular. Weapons, artillery and military clothing are on show. However, the defence sector consists has been more extensive thant ammunition and weapons. The Special Group of Polish Divers have made a huge contribution to Poland's security. At the 31st MSPO they presented their skills and modern underwater equipment.

There is only one team of this kind in the whole world. They explored the flooded 9th level of the Wieliczka Salt Mine and carried out over 550 effective search operations in Polish waters.

– Our group consists of almost 200 of the best divers in the country,  we revovered the bodies of Piotr Woźniak-Starak and Jan Lityński, to name a ew. The search involves, first of all, getting acquainted with the evidence, assessing the victim's body language based on surveillance recordings and reconstruction of the situation. During a mission, we use towed sonars for simultaneous scan of the water body and the bottom mosaic; we also use underwater vehicles and cameras – says Maciej Roks from the PR Special Group of Divers.

Underwater exploration specialists represent the leader of underwater technology producers - Edge Tech Polska EdgeTech is a global household name in the domain of high-quality products: side-scan sonars, underbottom profilers, bathymetry systems, AUV and ROV-based sonar systems, combined and custom solutions. The 31st MSPO offers the opportunity to learn every detail of the work. There is a lightweight, portable sonar system with extremely high resolution and an unusual name, i.e. 4125i.

EdgeTech's 4125i can be used by both water exploration and recovery operations (Search and Rescue) as well as divers for shallow water research. This model uses EdgeTech's Full Spectrum® CHIRP technology, which provides significantly higher resolution images at ranges up to 50% larger than other systems operating at the same frequency. The sonar can be towed in two ways: with and without telemetric components. A tug with additional telemetry allows you to conduct searches and research in deeper waters.
