Discussion about the condition of Polish agriculture
- I am convinced that the trade fair is in a great demand with the industry. Food production in our country must increase, especially when we might face a shortage of food; agriculture must move towards automation and digitisation. I see the future of this trade fair filled with cautious optimism, said President Andrzej Mochoń.
- All the time, even before the war, we have faced various crises. Food is a priority and thus should be focused on, which also requires care for farmers, both large and small enterprises - stated Undersecretary Krzysztof Ciecióra. - In the future, it will be necessary to meet the nutritional needs not only in Poland but also in our neighbouring friend-countries, including Ukraine. These states are facing a huge crisis related to the supply of food and agricultural products shortage. However, this requires a reconfiguration of supply chains. The Kielce expo plays, therefore an essential role in achieving this goal. As a farmer, I have often visited Agrotech. This is where I could test the equipment and make the appropriate purchase decision.
The vice-president of Targi Kielce, Bożena Staniak, sees great development opportunities for Polish agriculture. She points out that domestic companies have a chance to supply for the shortage that will appear after the end of the war in Ukraine. She also noticed that increasing prices might, paradoxically, contribute to growing farms’ profitability.
