Dorota Miśkiewicz invites for Targi Kielce Jazz Festival Memorial to Miles A new project on stage
As announced by the respected singer, the icon of Brazilian Bossanova - guitarist Toninho Horta, bassist Michael Pipoquinha and Polish drummer Bodek Janke will appear on stage with her. The sounds created in the city of eternal sun, Rio de Janeiro will fill the space. There will also be a surprise - a new interpretations of Dorota Miśkiewicz's original songs from the album "Caminho", such as "I'm humming, whistling to myself".
The duo's performance is scheduled for Saturday, 23 September, but jazz atmosphere will fill the Kielce Cultural Centre on Thursday. - The Festival is a unique opportunity to listen to so many different musicians performing in the same venue - says Andrzej Mochoń, president of the Kielce exhibition and congress centre; the festival co-organiser. – We engaged artists who are already legends, such as Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski, as well as creators of new jazz, including Marek Pospieszalski's octet – says Andrzej Mochoń.

"The Lodger" by Alfred Hitchcock - live music opens the Targi Kielce Jazz Festival Memorial to Miles. Acclaimed artists will perform at the show - and among them Jazz guitarist from Kielce - Piotr Domagała is the creator of original musical projects combining jazz, contemporary music and folk. He presented his music on many European and Polish stages. He will be accompanied by a trumpeter Adam Kawończyk, drummer and accordionist Oleg Dyyak and Kinga Rataj, a singer known for her passion for fado sounds. The screening of "The Lodger" replaced the performance in memory of Krzysztof Komeda Trzciński, "Before the Day Comes Up". For reasons beyond the organisers' control, the original performance was cancelled.

Friday, 22 September belongs to the original jazz sounds. At 7 p.m., the electronic duo Skalpel will perform accompanied by a live band. The creators of Skalpel - Marcin Cichy and Igor Pudła. For years they have combined local jazz traditions with the fascination possibilities of electronic music.
Friday evening also featured the Yazz Ahmed quartet, the leading trumpet player of the new generation in Europe. This British-Bahrain artist has worked diligently to become one of the game changers on jazz stage.
Saturday evening at KCK with Ptaszyn
The weekend creates a stir; on Saturday, 23 September at 6 p.m. the concert stage welcomes the master. Without this personage Polish jazz would be in a completely different place. Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski accompanied by outstanding musicians. The quartet - pianist Wojciech Niedziela, bass player Andrzej Święs and drummer Marcin Jahr. The Marek Pospieszalski Octet - a plethora of Polish jazz and independent musicians of the 80/90 generation. Marek Pospieszalski will be joined by tenor saxophonist Piotr Chęcki, trumpeter Tomasz Dąbrowski, violinist Tomasz Sroczyński, guitarist Szymon Mika, pianist Grzegorz Tarwid, double bassist Max Mucha and drummer Qba Janicki.
Four days’ fiesta with jazz masters in Kielce
The Targi Kielce Jazz Festival “Memorial to Miles” is staged from 21 to 24 September. The film screening and concerts will take place in the Grand Concert Hall of the Kielce Culture Centre at Plac Moniuszki 2 in Kielce. Admission against fee, tickets - one day or pass for the entire festival pass can be purchased at the KCK box office and on the website kck.bilety24.pl. Tickets for Thursday are still valid.
