I know how much effort is invested into showing to Europe that our life is rooted in the environment - said Andrzej Bętkowski, Marshal of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, when opening the conference. That is why it is so important to inform and educate the public in this regard.
These words were reflected in the subject of the presentation - "Nature education and the deficit of contact with nature", lecture by Tomasz Hałatkiewicz - Director of the Complex of Świętokrzyskie and Nadnidziańskie Landscape Parks. The speaker told not only about numerous educational projects but also about the new investment in the Centre for Environmental Education in Umianowice. The centre is to be operational in spring 2022; the project was EU subsidised with PLN 15 million. The total investment cost is PLN 19.7 million. The mini-farm offers its visitors the possibility to see Polish ponies, cows, sheep and goats, observe the work on such a farm and even help in farm activities. One
of the main attractions offered by the centre will be Nidarium, an aquarium with a capacity of 25 thousand litres reflecting life in the Nida river.
A special information point features employees of the Department of Environment and Waste Management of the Marshal's Office in Kielce who provide information to those interested.
We encourage you to join the meeting.
