Four students from Poland have a chance to travel into space! Targi Kielce joins forces with POLSA and the Endeavour Scholarship Foundation for the Future of Youth
"Endeavor" encourages young people to choose a career in science, engineering and exploration.
The initiator of the "Endeavor" scholarship program - Colonel Alfred Merrill Worden - an astronaut, the pilot of the "Endeavor" command module at the Apollo 15 mission was a global advocate of education in the field of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The program was created in 2019, this is when MSPO in Targi Kielce hosted Col. Worden was an honorary guest. This is when Mr Worden handed over the Polish flag to the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda. This particular flag was once on the Earth orbit.
Colonel Worden's work is continued by Apollo 16 lunar module commander Brigadier General Charlie Duke, who meets the foundation fellows at selected ceremonies. This has been designed to inspire hundreds of people. This was the case of the "space" camp in 2022 and 2023.

The Astronaut Al Worden Endeavour Scholarship is an international education program which aims to reward aspiring STEM enthusiasts and future leaders and their teachers with a hands-on astronaut training experience at the U.S Space and Rocket Centre's renowned Space Camp, located in Huntsville, Alabama, USA, this centre has operates since 1982. To date, the Centre has trained over 900,000 people, several of whom have become astronauts. Named for Apollo 15 astronaut Al Worden, in honor of his spacecraft, the Endeavour Scholarship pays all expenses for a week-long, hands-on astronaut training experience to Space Camp at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama
– I am happy to see such a program in Poland. I can say that I am a beit helous; my generation could only dream of such opportunities - commented the president of Targi Kielce, Andrzej Mochoń.

Four students from each country (aged 15-18) and their guardian are selected through a competition. Not only does participation in the training inspire the next generation of explorers, but also helps to influence their careers and create lifelong bonds.
The entire roster of 'Endeavour Scholars' includes students and teachers from the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Chile, France, Singapore, Australia, Bahrain, and the United States.
The program is funded through the generosity of private-sector corporations and individuals who share Al Worden's passion for inspiring future generations to work across national boundaries and keep reaching for new horizons.
