From ecology to waste and recycling - the history of Ekotech
From the beginning, Ekotech has been an excellent forum for presenting various ecological technologies. It enables all interested parties to choose and purchase appropriate equipment and familiarise themselves with the latest technical achievements. Numerous manufacturing and service companies, representatives of local governments and municipalities, and organisations and institutions working for ecology in the scientific, research, financial, and investment spheres attended the event.
Since 2000, the Ekotech Expo has focused largely on waste processing and recycling and issues related to renewable energy sources. Due to circumstances and the condition of the industry and economy, the Ekotech trade fair had a six-year break, but since 2007, the event has been continuously organised every year. 2007 the Ekotech show gained a new name - the Ekotech Ecological, Municipal, Recyclable Raw Materials, Waste Disposal and Recycling Fair. For many years, Ekotech was held in conjunction with the ENEX trade fair – the energy and renewable energy sources trade fair;
The idea of the trade fair was not only to familiarize the visitors with the latest technologies in the field of ecology but also to raise awareness of the threat that humans pose to their immediate environment. With the expanding market of potential customers in the ecological industry, the event’s importance grew year by year. Now, key trends for the municipal industry are being set at Ekotech.

In 2025, the Ekotech celebrates their anniversary – the 25th event will take place on 8-10 April at Targi Kielce.
