The awards and distinctions of the fist edition of the Fair of Geographic Information Knowledge and Solutions GIS Meeting held in Targi Kielce have already been presented.

The jury panel headed by Professor Bogdan Ney awarded the distinction to Instytut Systemów Przestrzennych i Katastralnych S.A. (Spatial and Cadastral Systems Institute) z from Gliwice for RIZK – Crisis Rescue and Management. By the vote of the GIS Meeting participants the best geo-portal has received the accolade for the first time. The GIS Meeting medal was presented to Kielce City Hall for the Municipal System of Spatial Information GEOPORTAL Kielce.

”GIS Meeting – the Fair of Geographic Information Knowledge and Solutions” created an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences, review good practices, and discuss the requirements regarding spatial information system implementation set out for the administration. On the other hand the event was also the chance to become familiar with the diversity of products offered by the companies from the geographic information systems sector; ranging from software through the diversity of services to the hardware. The organisers’ intention was to bring together and gather in one venue all those who are responsible for creating the legal regulations, practitioners who have considerable experience in spatial information systems implementation as well as the people who have been successful in such implementations in their agencies.
