"GUM - the Central Office of Measures and Targi Kielce - hand in hand."
Andrzej Mochoń, the head of the exhibition and congress centre, says that, contrary to appearances, there are many similarities in activities that bring together Targi Kielce and GUM.
- These two institutions are linked by a common purpose; their activity boosts the cooperation between research and scientific centres and the industry. What is more, our long-term goal is to strengthen Polish companies in the international arena - explains Andrzej Mochoń.
Professor Jacek Semaniak, the head of the Central Office of Measures, is convinced that the GUM's reputation will make it possible to attract large international companies to Kielce;- as exemplified by the expo centre. We hope to see those companies which have not marked their presence in the capital of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship.
- A global perspective shows that national metrology institutes are natural partners for enterprises. The construction stage of the Świętokrzyskie Campus requires modern equipment; this will also serve as a magnet for international contractors - believes Professor Jacek Semaniak
Professor Semaniak also appreciated the role of the Kielce exhibition and congress centre - Targi Kielce is perceived as a development powerhouse, the matchmaker which brings parties together. Targi Kielce also creates the brand of the city; Kielce is the expo city. It is hard to imagine what would have happened but for the expo centre.
The President of the Central Office of Measures also explained why the contract signed today is so important - On the one hand, the brand that has been in Kielce for many years, i.e. Targi Kielce, and on the other, a new research and development unit within the structure of the Central Office of Measures, i.e. the Świętokrzyski Laboratory Campus. Both act for economic development. Jointly we can implement projects for the benefit of the industrial sector.
The agreement recitals read: The Central Office of Measures as a government administration office competent in matters of measures and testing is the basis of the national measurement system and represents Poland in the international metrological arena. The COM actively maintains contacts with scientific and research bodies and intends to promote and support exhibition events organized by Targi Kielce.
