Jan Kowalczyk Memorial – a tribute to the legend of Polish equestrian sports

The Jan Kowalczyk Memorial - the Hippikon 2025 Fair, the event that combines sport, tradition and modernity; the unique event dedicated to the memory of one of the greatest Polish horse-riding sportsman. The decision to establish the Jan Kowalczyk Memorial was made in agreement with his family and the Polish Equestrian Association, which gives this event a special character and prestige

The International Show Jumping Competitions which is held within the scope of the Memorial is CSI1* and CSI2* ranked. This is the newest sporting event in the equestrian calendar, attracting competitors from all over Poland who will compete for prizes and prestigious titles.

It is worth emphasising that CSI1* and CSI2* class show jumping competitions represent a high level of difficulty and require exceptional skills from both riders and their horses. This competition will provide the audience with an unforgettable experiences and memories. The competition will keep you at the edge of the seat, allowing you to watch the best competitors compete in the international arena.

Jan Kowalczyk – the Polish horse-riding icon

Jan Kowalczyk is the personage who will forever be remembered in the history of Polish sport. He was the only Pole to win an Olympic gold medal in equestrian sports, triumphing in the show jumping competition in Moscow in 1980;  his perseverance, passion and unparalleled skills inspired subsequent generations of riders, and his contribution to the development of equestrianism in Poland remains invaluable.

The Memorial commemorates Jan Kowalczyk’s sporting achievements and provides an opportunity to recall his values, such as passion, determination, and love for horses. This event keeps the memory of one of the greatest Polish alive both in the equestrian milieus and among the general public.
