Jan Kowalczyk – the Polish horse-riding icon
Jan Kowalczyk is the personage who will forever be remembered in the history of Polish sport. He was the only Pole to win an Olympic gold medal in equestrian sports, triumphing in the show jumping competition in Moscow in 1980; his perseverance, passion and unparalleled skills inspired subsequent generations of riders, and his contribution to the development of equestrianism in Poland remains invaluable.
