Kuba Więcek & Hoshii live in concert at the Memorial to Miles. Contemporary jazz in a new unveiling
Kuba Więcek - a saxophonist, composer and music producer, winner of many music awards, such as Fryderyk, Olśnienia Onet and Mateusz Trójki accolades. A graduate of the music conservatory in Copenhagen, with three original albums in the prestigious Polish Jazz series. The American Downbeat magazine lists him as one of the musicians who may influence the future of jazz.
The latest project Hoshi, from the Japanese "to desire" harvested the ideas while the artist was working with the hip-hop and alternative milieus. The music by Hoshii band is based on beats created by Kuba Więcek, with the jazz quartet arrangement. The project redefines contemporary jazz. The Hoshi band consists of pianist Grzegorz Tarwid and bassist Max Mucha, known for his cooperation with Christian Scott, and drummer Miłosz Berdzik, a graduate of Berklee College of Music.
The context - the music is the story of a creature named Hoshii, from the Versus planet, several galaxies away from Earth. Hoshii, bored with her perfect and predictable life, sets off on a journey to experience something new and ends up on Earth, initially suffers from rejection. Over time he begins to settle down in his new surroundings.
The Targi Kielce Jazz Festival Memorial to Miles staged at the Kielce Culture Centre - 27 September - come and experience the new project. The event starts at 20.30. The first concert of the evening, at 7 p.m., features Tantfreaky.
