Milliken and PSO Maskpol discussing new areas of cooperation at Targi Kielce’s MSPO
In addition to the sets of flame-retardant underwear, other products were announced. New designs of military undersuits are on the horizon; this project would follow the same formula - the technology transfer and production in Poland.
- We present a solution that will be tested in the army in the coming months; our joint project may not be as spectacular as the programs initiated by the Ministry of National Defence and the PGZ Group at MSPO. However, in our opinion, it is very important for soldiers serving in the Polish Army. This is an element of the first layer of uniforms for soldiers of all branches of the Polish Armed Forces, i.e. very high-quality flame-retardant underwear. We have completed an implementation project regarding summer and winter underwear in the format proposed by Maskpol and adopted by Milliken, i.e. full technology transfer to Poland. Its most important element was the transfer of the technology for the production of flame-retardant knitwear. This technology transfer has been completed - says Adam Ogrodnik, President of the Management Board of Maskpol SA
Milliken and Maskpol are working on several new solutions for uniforms. The schemes cannot be made public at this time. As announced, all of them will make the most of modern technologies, including flame-retardant knitted fabrics used in selected products. The main advantages of the new products include durability, comfort of use and ergonomics.
- Our cooperation began less than a year ago and we have all worked hard to reach this stage. Our goal has been to offer American technology based on Polish production. Our technologies are the result of years of work of our R&D department, and their goal is to provide a product that is durable, robust and at the same time functional, ensuring thermal comfort and moisture transport. We want the Polish Army to have equipment that befits the 21st century. Our soldiers who perform complex service for the country certainly deserve it - says Anna Zygan, international sales manager of the Government and Defence department at Milliken & Co.
Milliken's goal is to offer and provide cutting-edge technologies to both the Polish army, uniformed services and other European allies. The partner’s factories ought to be located in Poland in order gain access to the latest technologies. Production processes take place in Poland, too.
