Modern surface and welding technologies presented at Targi Kielce
The seminar on the first day of the International Trade Fair of Welding Technology and Equipment WELDING, a part of the Industrial Spring series at Targi Kielce brings together participants from different parts of the country who listened to a series of presentations by experts from Łukasiewicz – Upper Silesian Institute of Technology in Gliwice (Łukasiewicz – GIT) and invited specialists.
Doctor Hab opened the meeting. In his first speech, Engineer Marek Weglowski introduced modern methods of surface hardening as innovative solutions supporting industry. He then presented the EDIH SILESIA SMART SYSTEMS project, showing the potential of cooperation between science and industry. As Doctor Hab. Engineer Weglowski explained that EDIH is the European Digital Innovation Hub, which supports companies in digital transformation. This platform integrates business environment institutions, scientific units and universities, offering comprehensive services tailored to the needs of industrial companies. - He noted 398 hubs in the European Union and 13 in Poland. - EDIH supports entrepreneurs by providing access to specialist technical knowledge and tests, as well as the possibility of "testing before investment" and it provides innovative services such as financial advice, training and skills development that are crucial for successful digital transformation. EDIH also helps businesses solve environmental problems, the expert said.
One of the key points of the program was a presentation on welding process monitoring system examplified by a robotic line for the production of welded structures, jointly presented by representatives of Łukasiewicz - GIT and the Zaslav company. The speakers discussed how modern solutions can support the technological and organizational development of enterprises.
Maciej Urbanczyk discussed the process qualification of welding personnel in the context of implementing laser technologies at the Welding Center. In the next part of the seminar , Dominik Miara presented potential FSW friction welding, whereas Lukasz Rawicki introduced the participants to modern techniques of non-destructive testing (NDT).
The seminar was an important platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences between the scientific community and industry.
This year's seminar confirmed the growing role of innovative technologies in the processes of combining and modifying surfaces and the need for further development of staff competences in this area.
