Objective – a safe EURO 2012 tournament

The 11th “Safe Stadium” conference was formally opened by PZPN President - Grzegorz Lato

The 11th Exhibition of Sport Facilities, Fittings and Construction SPORT-OBIEKT, the Safe Stadium conference  and the 12th Video Surveillance Conference and Exhibition ALARM were formally opened by Grzegorz Lato – the president of PZPN

Following the example of previous years’ editions the prestigious conference “Safe Stadium” which accompanies the SPORT-OBIEKT trade fair has brought together a few hundreds participants. The conference is organised by Polish Football Association in conjunction with Targi Kielce.

During the opening ceremony the floor was taken by the president of PZPN Grzegorz Lato, PZPN deputy president for trainings Antoni Piechniczek, the president of Polish section of the International Police Association Andrzej Skrzypczak, Świetokrzyskie Voivode Bożentyna Pałka-Koruba, Kielce Mayor Wojciech Lubawski.

- Owing to these Kielce meetings we will be properly prepared to organise the EURO 2012 and to ensure safety for our guests. Next year at this conference we will be able to sum up the tournament speaking highly of the work we have done – said Grzegorz Lato.

The main topics for discussions at the “Safe Stadium” are, inter alia; the state of organisational preparations for Polish edition of UEFA EURO 2012, the legal status of tournament organisation as well security provision at football matches held in Poland seen from the perspective of the primary and secondary legislation, the Stadium Safety Manual. The programme also encompasses the issues of cooperation with football fans during UEFA EURO 2012, experiences of EURO 2008 football stadium and public area security provision as well as the Polish concept of safeguarding football tournaments.

The presentations will be delivered by the EURO 2012 tournament management representatives and the authorities and the representatives of PZPN, the specialists from the EURO 2012 organisational committee, the PL 2012 Special Purpose Vehicle, Ministry of Interior and Administration, the National Police Headquarters, Boarder Guards, SWPS (High School of Social Psychology) as well as foreign guests representing Austrian and German police departments; they will present their experiences derived from European football tournament as well as the World Cup organisation.
