Poland and Romania to build the shield together
Romania, similar to Poland, faces the necessity of a complex modernisation and replacement of anti-aircraft defence systems.
The proposal issued by Polish defence industry sector which is associated in the Bumar Group and which offers a comprehensive air-defence and anti- missile system called Tarcza Polski (Poland’s Shield) generated the great interest of the Romanian party; they are interested in a close cooperation close cooperation regarding Polish short range and ultra-short range air-defence systems.
The agreement was concluded and signed by the presidents of companies from Bumar Group; which are to realise the Poland’s Shield project: Edwarda E. Nowak, the president of Bumar sp. z o.o., Ireneusz Żmidziński from Bumar Elektronika (CNPEP Radwar, PIT SA, Dolam SA) and Waldemar Skoworn from Bumar Amunicja (Mesko SA, ZSP Pionki, Nitrochem SA, FPS Bolechowo SA) and the president of Romanian UT I Group Tiberiu URDARENAU and the deputy president of UTI Group – Mihai Gradinaru. This agreement creates a chance for the defence industry sector from both countries to cooperate more closely in the domain of technology for advanced defence systems; this is also a good example of partnership and cooperation leading to the increase of European Union and NATO defence potentials.
The agreement concluded today, apart from the development of the new technology and command system as well as internal security systems, research and development in the area of new technologies, also comprises a whole series of non-military activities and close cooperation in the third-party markets.
