“Police – employer of choice” – inspiring lecture at the POLSECURE Expo
Officers from the prevention, investigation, and counterterrorism departments shared their personal stories related to service with the youth and told them what their daily work involved.
– I started serving in the Police at the age of thirty-six; I had been a teacher, and since I come from Szczytno, (…) it turned out that I could not escape this police profession. (…) I have been in service for fifteen years - prevention departmen – said the superintendent. Ewa Szymanek from the Prevention Bureau of the Police Headquarters – The police sets us specific tasks for us, very specific. The police require professionalism, not cutting corners, knowledge of legal regulations and the ability to respect these regulations. We are challenged, but also offered the opportunity to developm – added the superintendent.
Motivation was offered in abundance.
– For many years, when I was in high school, I hid my long hair under a hat, (…) I played the guitar, hence the trend of having slightly longer hair. Youth has rights of its own. (…) Don't feel limited if you enjoy passions and interests. I want to tell you that the Police does not limit you in any way. You can be a good policeman and also be a good athlete. You can be a good policeman and also be a good scientist. You can be a good policeman and stay involved in social and charitable activities – superintendents Roman Kuster Deputy Police Commander in Chief motivated the listeners.
After the debate with the officers, uniformed schools students had the opportunity to take fitness tests for young uniformed officers.
