Polish Champions

14 june 2014
Vive Targi Kielce has won the title for the eleventh time!

That was an awesome match for our team; this was also a dramatic meeting! In Plock we won 34:25 and gained the eleventh Polish Championship title in the club's history! Big compliments to our team and thanks for a great match!

The meeting, however, abounded with numerous dramatic moments... At the very beginning of the match there was an incident between the coaches of the teams. As a result of the situation, both coaches received send-off cards and had to watch the rest of the game from the stands. The first assistant coaches acted in the capacity of regular instructors: Thomas Strząbała and Krzysztof Kisiel.

Ever since the beginning of the match the Vive Targi Kielce team had been the upper-hand. The Kielce bunch had been on a positive energy drive at the very start of the game. The goal keeper Slawek Szmal was doing a really good job (18 successful defences). The first minutes of the match abounded with fierce competition; there was also a few unpleasant situations in the field. Then the game cooled down and the "yellow-white-blues" took a decisive lead. After a quarter the team jumped ahead 10:5. The team was perfect at counter attack; before the break Vive took the lead 19:10.

The local team managed to pluck up for a brief spurt at the beginning of the second part of the meeting. The hosts scored four goals in a row and the result was 20:16. The wise Kielce team swiftly pulled themselves together. Kielce players scored another three goals and "jumped" ahead of the rivals. The match end belonged to our team, this way they secured the Champions Title for eleventh time in its history, third consecutive.
