Pottery workshops at the Agrotravel & Active Life
All handicrafts and creative time lovers are welcome to join the Creative Development and Horse Tourism Centre "Ignacówka" and become a part of the ceramic-pottery workshops - a potter's wheel with no secrets.
The art of carving in clay is one of the oldest crafts because a potter profession has been known since the Neolithic era when dishes for everyday use were first formed. Initially, these items were used for food and water storage and transportation. A greater knowledge about the art of pottery developed and these items were decorated and thus used for artistic purposes.
Splendid clay items need thorough preparation of appropriate raw material. The clay must be homogeneous, free of lumps and free of impurities. The workshop consists of a bench and potter's wheel - this is where dishes are formed, smoothed and decorated. The last element is item oven baking - this process lasts for several hours at a temperature of about 1000 ° C.
Participants will embark on a journey into this magical world of clay at the AGROTRAVEL & Active Life expo - this is where the “Suchedniów Naturally” tourist group representatives will show all the details. In addition to pottery workshops, be drawing and plaster casts workshops are also available.
The workshops suitable for children - through the creation they also improve the learning of writing skills as well as a proper use of tools. Seniors will find additional benefits in the workshops - clay as a high plasticity material which offers excellent therapeutic properties - prefect choice for hand therapy for the elderly: kneading, rolling and the grain size selection improves blood circulation and helps to return to fitness after strokes.
We look forward to seeing you at this year's AGROTRAVEL & Active Life in Targi Kielce and its accompanying workshops.
