On Tuesday and Wednesday Targi Kielce will be the venue for the qualifying round of the 12th Religious Song Festival. For a number of years the SACROEXPO trade fair whose 2012 edition is held from 18th to 20th June has also its Kielce Culture Centre setting; this is the place which resounds with the most beautiful religious songs. This year’s finals of the festivals will bring together almost 700 participants from Kielce diocese. The final is to take place during the second day of the SacroExpo trade fair - 19th June at 4 p.m. on the Kielce Culture Centre grand scene.

The star of this year’s festival will be the Sound’n’Grace music ensemble which shot to fame at the Got talent TV show. This vocal group is composed of over twenty people and supported by the five-person band; all that is directed by Ania Żaczek and Kamil Mokrzycki.

You must see the band’s website www.soundandgrace.pl

THE RELIGIOUS SONG FESTIVAL – the endeavour initiated by Father Jerzy Ostrowski – the Director of the Ministerial Department at the Diocese Curia in Kielce, Father Stanisław Kiśmierczyk – the priest who works in the Cathedral Parish in Kielce and Mr Stanisław Jurkowski – a musician, sound engineer and the manager of the “Fema” and “The Stanley’s Band” music ensembles. The last mentioned is also the host of the festival.

The idea to hold the was put forward when “The Stanley’s Band” was created in the Academic Ministry Centre “Odnowa” (Revival), the group which works in the Cathedral Basilica and which was then supervised by Father Stanisław. The band was responsible for song animation during the liturgy and other ministerial meetings. The band creation was the result of Father Stanislaw’s prior analysis which indicated the demand for this form of cultural activity among young people and their search for a new form of the Gospel presentation. Music appeared to be the best form of communication with young people.
