Discussion at the UFI Global CEO Summit, which brings together the heads of the most important trade fair centres in the world, has demonstrated, that we have joint objectives. The global exhibition industry's objective is sustainable development and environmental protection. The important topics discussed at the convention related to the issue of carpets used in exhibition centres. Hundreds of thousands of square meters are used annually, says Andrzej Mochoń, PhD., president of Targi Kielce.
Approximately 100,000 square meters of carpets are ordered and used yearly at Targi Kielce. Polypropylene carpet materials are used at expos stands and in passageways between booths. Over 300,000 visitors to the Kielce exhibition and congress centre stroll on the carpeted expo surface every year. After each event, used carpets land in a container and end up in the trash.
All Polish innovators are invited to participate in this hackathon, including entrepreneurs, scientific and research entities, academic and student teams, and individuals from the Baltic Sea Region, i.e., Poland, Germany, and Scandinavia.
