Targi Kielce on the threshold of new ecological solutions. 10-11 April - the finale of the bioeconomy hackathon and presentation of innovative solutions for the entire exhibition industry!
The final stage of the international bioeconomy hackathon "BioBoosters" held on 10 and 11 April at Targi Kielce, will feature five innovators presenting solutions related to the use of carpets in the exhibition industry. And these are the finalists: Lindström, VIVE Group VIVE Innovation, Karteko in collaboration with Nordiska Ekofiber Polska, Greenful and Kamil Zawadzki and Tomasz Sikora. On the first day of the event, the participants will consult the projects they have submitted with mentors and experts present at Targi Kielce. A day later, on 11 April, they will present optimal solutions and will make attempts to persuade the jury panel. Those that win will cooperate with the Kielce center.
Targi Kielce is Poland’s first exhibition centre that decided to take up the challenge and find an alternative to existing carpets or a way for further use of carpets. – Targi Kielce Hackathon is an opportunity to solve one of the important issues of the green transformation process for exhibition centres and event organizers. Responding to the challenge is not just a one-off reaction, it is a response to the needs of the entire meetings industry. Every year, approximately 100,000 square meters of carpets are ordered and used at Targi Kielce. Polypropylene carpet materials are used at expos stands and in passageways between booths. Every year, over 300,000 visitors to the Kielce exhibition and congress centre stroll on the carpeted expo surface. After each event, used carpets land in a container and end up in the trash. - Discussion at the UFI Global CEO Summit which brings together the heads of the most important trade fair centres in the world has demonstrated that we have joint objectives. The global exhibition industry’s objective is sustainable development and environmental protection. The important topics discussed at the convention related to the issue of carpets used in exhibition centres. Hundreds of thousands of square meters are used annually. We all hope that the ideas brought by the participants will solve these problems - adds the president of Targi Kielce
