The details of the martyrdom of the Ulma family and the beatification process stages discussed at the 24th SACROEXPO The latest film dedicated to the family from Markowa - public screening
Rafael Publishing House from Krakow - the exhibitor of the Sacroexpo has focussed on the Ulma family for over a dozen years. At the Publishing House's expo stand you can find information on the latest titles and publications in this field. On the initiative of publishing houses, the 24th Sacroexpo agenda includes the meeting of Fr. Witold Burda PhD, a postulator in the beatification process of the Ulma family. The guest began his lecture by discussing the stages of the beatification process and hat are the proceedings in the case of the family from Markowa.
The case of the Ulma family in the Przemyśl diocese was investigated in the years 2003 - 2008, a new and independent trial was then instilled on the matter. Fr. Archbishop Adam Szal, Metropolitan of Przemyśl played a vital role. In July 2020 the work was completed on Positio - the document on the martyrdom of the Ulma family. The purpose of the document is to demonstrate the presence of martyrdom.
In December 2022, Pope Francis approved the decree on the martyrdom of the Ulma Family. The Sacroexpo welcomed Fr. Witold Burda, who emphasized that the most moving element of the beatification is the fact that not only Józef and Wiktoria will be raised to the glory of the altars, but also their children - Stanisław, Barbara, Władysław, Franciszek, Antoni, Maria and the unborn child.
The Ulma family beatification is celebrated on 10 September 2023 in Markowa, the place of their martyrdom.
After the lecture by Fr. Doctor Witold Burda, Targi Kielce turned into a cinema screening the latest film devoted to the history of the Ulma family from Markowa. "The Story of One Crime" was directed by Mariusz Pilis.
