The official opening ceremony of the METAL, ALUMINIUM & NONFERMET and CONTROL-TECH fairs

Professor Józef Szczepan Suchy wished a fruitful fair to all the exhibitors who have come to Kielce

The opening ceremony of the trade fairs devoted to foundry engineering held in Targi Kielce was full of optimism – the guests of honour wished the exhibitors and the clients a fruitful fair, good business relations and gaining a better position on the markets of the European Union.

“Kielce trade fairs – this is the business sector’s best and most important place on the national and European scale. This is the place to become familiar with the comprehensive offer of the companies, the latest ideas and developments and the whole market infrastructure” – these were the highlights of Professor Józef Szczepan Suchy’s address. Professor Suchy is
the former president and the active board member of World Foundry Organisation WFO, Dean of Foundry Engineering Dept. At AGH University of Technology, President of Central European Foundry Initiative MEGI, Honorary President of Polish Foundrymen Association, Deputy chairman of the scientific board at the Foundry Research Institute and the Chairman of Metal fair Scientific Council.

The Secretary General of Technical Association of Polish Foundrymen, Mr Tadeusz Franaszek said ”We cannot compete with the low costs and production capacity of China, we cannot compete with the dynamics of the United States economy either; however we can compete on the European and global markets providing innovativeness and technological ideas of Polish engineers”; these words brought out a shower of applause.

The trade fairs were officially opened by Deputy Mayor of Kielce - Tadeusz Sayor.

The METAL, ALUMINIUM & NONFERMET and CONTROL-TECH fairs are the largest events of this kind in Poland and one of the major events in Europe. They last 3 days, this year’s programme is complemented with a record breaking number of conferences and business insiders meetings, and the first Poland’s dynamic presentation of a casting machine in operation.
