02 april 2011
At the EcoFamily fair the we had the chance to familiarise ourselves with the most interesting products of everyday use which have been made form Coca-Cola cans

The main prize of 3 thousand PLN as the award for the floor lam goes to Łukasz Kopeć

The main motif of the National Creative Recycling Contest I CAN was to find a the way t re-use the drink cans produced by Coca-Cola HBC Polska (Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola light, Coca-Cola zero, Cherry Coke, Fanta, Sprite, Nestea, Burn).

The contest was about all possible areas of design; furniture, lighting, things and accessories used every day, landscape architecture items, gadgets, toys, packaging and visual communication. This provided the contestants with a wonderful pretext to make their imagination work, to break out of the old habits through which the world and the things which exist in it are perceived. This was also the possibility to use the creation act in order to rationalise and economise on production and foremost an irreplaceable satisfaction driven from invention, using your wits and creation of a new thing out of existing ones.

The creative ways and ideas for waste materials management gain the increasing recognition. The head of the jury panel was Marek Cecuła, the famous designer of ceramics. The jury has selected the best works out of 21 which entered the contest. The prizes were presented by the jury panel members – professor Wiesław Łuczaj of the Design Institute at UJK University and the President of Targi Kielce Andrzej Mochoń.
