At the AUTOSTRADA POLSKA, MASZBUD and TRAFFIC EXPO-TIL fairs WIRTGEN GROUP presents the innovative solution for road engineering delivered to you by HAMM company

The new, compact rubber-wheeled roller GRW 280 by HAMM

GRW concept was so appealing to the best designers in the world that they had awarded it with the iF design award 2010 just before it was introduced into the market.

The main reasons for creating this version of the roller and thus creating the innovative machine were; the desire to alter the looks of the existing model, lowering the height of the machine, improving the machine operator’s visibility, modification of the ballast concept, installation of a modern drive as well as modification of the steering axis and the braking system. The main features of GRW 280 are:
  • The machine height < 3 m.,
  • The operator sits in the middle of the machine cab,
  • Excellent visibility both to the front and the back,
  • Modern design;
The operator’s place in GRW 280 model makes it possible to move and turn the seat all along the width of the platform – and this solution is the effective replacement of two separate driver’s seats which used to be mounted in the previous version. The new GRW 280 is equipped with two ballast chambers on both sides; the weights made of concrete or steel can be removed / put into the chamber in order to modify the effective operatiang weight of the machine.

Another option which facilitates the operator’s work is the possibility to observe the tyres and to lower the wheel suspension level by means of pendulum suspension.

All these solutions allow the optimal adjustment of the machine to various subsoil conditions; various roof profiles or small faults.
