Transatlantic Kayak Expedition

Aleksander Doba in Targi Kielce. How come?

For over three months Aleksander Doba has been on the cruise to cross the Atlantic Ocean. Where is he now? Has he reached the destination? Stay tuned for the latest update on the expedition. We may also have a chance to chat live to the traveller over a satellite telephone.

Aleksander Doba is 67. His kayak is seven metre long and one metre wide. The sea route form Lisbon to Florida is 9 thousand kilometre long. Doba set sailing on 5th October. And only a few days later his SPOT (GPS localiser) failed; although it was supposed to be water-tight, SPOT and water turned out to be worlds apart. Since then the kayaker has been sending short text messages. Then we have lost touch with him.

The “Wiosło” [Oar] Magazine has a special attraction for the KIELCE SPORT – ZIMA and Water Expo visitors – this will a session devoted to the cruise which may include a video-conference with Aleksander Doba. The meeting will be held at high noon in the D expo hall.
