Turbo - the legend of Polish metal music performs in Kielce! This is one of the stars of this year's Kielce ROCKS festival

Strong guitar sounds offered to the participants of the jubilee edition of Kielce ROCKS - the Turbo band has been a part of the music milieus for over 40 years and is considered a legend of Polish heavy metal. The artists will perform at the Targi Kielce Congress Centre on the third day of the festival, 17 September. Tickets available on the website www.kupbilecik.pl

The Turbo band, which was founded over 40 years ago in Poznań, has played thousands of concerts in Poland -  they have performed at rock and metal festivals. The group performed abroad several times, e.g. to Austria, Czech Republic, Ireland, Germany, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden and Great Britain. The band has performed with such artists as: Hanoi Rocks, Pretty Maids, Helloween, Running Wild, Overkill, Kreator, Citron, Sepultura, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep.

Turbo has been perfecting its characteristic musical style for many years, it can be classified as heavy and thrash metal genre. Their works have repeatedly won the recognition of critics and journalists. In music rankings, Turbo albums received the title of "Record of the Year", musicians took first places in industry plebiscites, and the band was nominated for the most prestigious awards, including two Fryderyk Awards.

The formation has recorded twelve studio albums;  their first album - "Adult Children", released in 1983, became a great sensation owing to uncompromising energy and innovative arrangements which befited the times. Not only did the title track become one of the most important and greatest hits of the early 1980s, but also of the entire Polish rock music.

Three years later, the album "Kawaleria Szatana" was released, critics and fans consider the LP the best and most important heavy metal album of the 80s in Poland. Another groundbreaking album was "The Last Warrior". This band offers harsh, thrash metal compositions that consolidated the band's image and allowed them to sign a contract with the German Noise Records record label. It was the first of several albums released outside of Poland.  The band received positive opinions in the foreign music press, it was often compared to the then Brazilian Sepultura. In reviews it received ratings were similar to such celebrities as Judas Priest or Iron Maiden. The band's subsequent albums also enjoyed good reviews and allowed the group to consolidate its position on the Polish market.

10th Kielce ROCKS festival starts on Friday, 15 September at 6 p.m. In addition to the Turbo band, the following artists will also perform on the Congress Centre's stage: Kobranocka, Proletaryat, Reserve, the band 1One with Grzegorz Kupczyk, the duo Porter and Karczewska, Maciej Lipina and the band Ścigani and Jacek Szuła OnUs Blues.
