UNUSUAL PEACOCKS ON DISPLAY AT TARGI KIELCE

29 january 2019
532 specimens of decorative poultry can be admired at the Targi Kielce’s National Exhibition of Pedigree Pigeons and Small Livestock. In addition to watching, those more inquisitive can also get to know some birds-related facts and titbits

The beautifully exposed aviary in E expo hall houses a peacock named Kuba; Kuba reigns supreme for a reason - it is a truly royal peacock. Mr. Sebastian Król, a decorative bird breeder from Bilcza - Kielce outlying town says that peacocks are very interesting creatures. A tamed peacock does not stray away from home. Most of us must have heard peacock’s call. Sebastian says when a peacock makes these sounds, this  usually suggests ... a weather change. Visitors to the   National Exhibition of Pedigree Pigeons and Small Livestock they could not admire Kuba’s beautiful tail unfortunately. Peacock mating season begins in around May. Male peacocks present themselves in all their glory in order to attract female breeders. And now a handful of historical curiosities. First records related to peacocks breeding come from the Egyptian pharaohs’ times, Greek and the Roman Empire.
