Of course there are lakes. It is obvious that Copernicus was also there. There is also the Wolf’s Lair and the Elbląg Canal. Besides these world-famous landmarks the Warmia and Masuria region is also the place which offers exciting adventures and a diversity of agro-tourism farms which also produce ecological food products.

Food epicures are welcome to special gastronomy facilities marked with “Culinary heritage – Warmia, Mazury i Powiśle”. The restaurants and producers that have earned this certificate offer local and regional products and dishes and also promote local customs in addition to the regional and traditional table manners.

Warmia and Masuria is also the region of breath-taking landscapes which spell their charm in summer when all Polish water-sports fans call in here and also in wither when you can enjoy a horse and sledge ride around a lake or find a perfect place for skiing. It is hard to believe but this place has got ski-slopes on its offer too. It is worth remembering that in 2011 Masuria was pronounced one of the 14 World’s most beautiful places!

Warmia and Masuria means much more than the lakes

Travelling to this region takes you back to the times of Polish knighthood magnificence, the middle-age strong-holds, heroic warriors and grand battle-fields. Many old castles have been converted into fashionable and elegant hotels and restaurants.

The Warmia and Masuria voivodeship boasts an ideal tourist location, contrary to a common belief. It is only 220 km from Olsztyn to Warsaw, just 180 km to Gdąńsk and and 170 to Toruń. There is also a very short distance from Olsztyn to Belzedy cross-border - 88 km, to Gronów – 102 km, and to Gołdap – 169 km.

Delicious food, wonderful nature, hospitable and friendly people, exhibitions, festivals, open-air markets, magnificent cuisine. This is the place you must visit.
