Description
CEDRAL small-format slates are a material that has been known and appreciated for many years and is attracting more and more interest every year. Available in a range of sizes, colours and two surface and edge finishes, they offer considerable design possibilities to suit any architectural style.
Safe, durable and non-combustible
The fibre-cement from which CEDRAL slates are made is a material that is safe for health and the environment. It is distinguished by its exceptional properties, including being extremely resistant to the adverse effects of atmospheric conditions (frost, precipitation, UV radiation) or substances that have strong alkaline properties. It is durable, with a service life of over fifty years. In addition, it is a non-combustible material, as evidenced by its excellent rating in terms of reaction to fire - class A2-s1, d0.
Lightweight material
CEDRAL slates are among the lightweight roofing materials, their square metre weighs just a dozen kilograms. This makes them an excellent solution not only for new builds, but also for the renovation of existing buildings or the restoration of historic buildings.
Universal usage
The most common and well-known application for slates is roofing. They can be used on practically any type of roof, bearing in mind, however, that the minimum roof pitch for slates is 25 degrees. They are an excellent alternative to the ubiquitous metal slates, profiled slates and slate on Polish roofs. The simple forms create a smooth and flat surface, giving it a consistent character and original look.
Small-format slates can also be used to cover
vertical surfaces. They work well for finishing walls and gable rafters, mansards, eaves, dormers and roof windows and other architectural details. A very popular application is also covering chimneys with them. As they are a non-combustible material, they meet all standards and ensure the safety of this solution.
One of the increasingly common applications for slates is to cover the entire building, both roof and façade, thus emphasising the unified character of the block. This bold solution is a real eye-catcher, giving the project a unique and very contemporary character.
In addition to small-format slates, CEDRAL also offers fibre-cement façade boards. They are available in two styles and surface finishes and 21 durable, factory-painted colours. They are a durable and low-maintenance solution that will work well on both the entire façade of a house and selected parts of it, creating interesting applications and giving the whole project a timeless character.
