Jan Kowalczyk Memorial – a tribute to the legend of Polish equestrian sports

The Jan Kowalczyk Memorial - the show jumping competition on 2–5 October 2025 as part of the Targi Kielce’s event. The event commemorates Jan Kowalczyk, the only Polish Olympic gold medalist in equestrian sports, who triumphed at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow.

The Jan Kowalczyk Memorial is a top-level CSI1* and CSI2* competition that will attract leading athletes from Poland and abroad. For the first time in history, the Targi Kielce’s expo hall will be transformed into a professional show jumping arena adapted to international standards of equestrian competitions. With the specially prepared ground and modern infrastructure, riders and horses will compete in conditions that meet the highest sporting requirements.

The Polish Equestrian Federation supports the competition and ensures the highest organisational and refereeing standards. Stud Farm in Michałów, the largest breeder of Arabian horses in Poland, partners with the event and emphasises the importance of Polish equestrian tradition in this prestigious tournament.
