VORTEX was created to meet the market need for a narrowly specialized company producing software and designing unique systems for the needs of national defense and security. The team's first projects date back to 1997, including software and systems for suppliers who obtained contracts for the Ministry of National Defense.
In the meantime, Vortex has developed from a narrowly specialized group of engineers into a company dealing in both the sale of finished products (ICOM Incorporated, R&S, Flir, NI) and the provision of services such as:
– design and construction of IT systems
– execution of telecommunications installations
– performing RF installations
– cybersecurity
– development of system software according to the ordering party's guidelines
– airport system installations
Moreover, based on the acquired knowledge, we develop our own products for the state security sector.

Since 2012, we have been intensively developing the R&D department, which, in cooperation with leading Polish universities, has won several competitions in the field of national defense and security. for administrators:
- Police,
- Polish army,
– State Protection Service,
- Border guards,

At the same time, the Electronic Warfare equipment service and repair department is developed, which carries out tasks acquired on the commercial market.

Due to the expanding scope of services and production, in 2018 the VORTEX management board decided to build the Radio Wave Laboratory, where the main department carrying out R&D work and the company's administration were located. The laboratory was built in accordance with the rules enabling the implementation of tasks marked with the "SECRET" clause. In 2021, the current headquarters was moved.
