Description
Our long-term cooperation with Polish partners has contributed to the implementation of programs that have significantly increased national defence capabilities and supported cooperation among allied international forces. For many years, solutions provided by Saab have been successfully deployed and operated on the Polish Navy’s Orkan-class ships (RBS15 Mk3 missiles and Sea Giraffe AMB radars) and installed on-board its newest MCM vessels (Double Eagle – underwater vehicles family). Most recently, Saab received a contract for the supply of a complete live training solution to be installed at key training sites around Poland. The system will considerably increase training capabilities of the Polish Armed Forces, both at national and allied levels, including effective training co-operation with the United States Army.
In order to support the implementation of the CTC contract, Saab has plans to grow its presence in Poland with initial recruitment of 21 experts to support the training centres in Poland. Saab has already been creating jobs in Poland through engaging Polish companies in its global supply chain. Companies such as Base Group, FAMOR and HG Solutions, are delivering components to the new Swedish Navy surface ship as well as the Swedish A26 submarines that are currently under construction in Karlskrona.
Saab has a comprehensive offering for the Polish Armed Forces covering full naval portfolio with the 9LV combat management system, RBS15 anti-ship missiles, the Giraffe family of ground-based and naval radars and a broad range of EW solutions for all branches of military services. For the dismounted soldier Saab offers the best-in-class light-weight NLAW anti-tank weapon system along with the family of the AT4 disposable and Carl-Gustaf® M4 reloadable shoulder-fired weapons. Saab stands ready to contribute its world-leading defence technology solutions to the Polish Armed Forces in naval, land and air domains.
Poland and Sweden share a vision for keeping the Baltic Sea safe. Saab has always recognized Poland’s priorities to develop an innovative and R&D-driven industry contributing to the economic growth of the country. This goal can be achieved through cooperation on industrial, military, technological and economic levels. Saab continues to support these efforts through partnerships pursuing projects involving transfer of technology and enabling local partners to engage in export markets. Drawing on our successful experience in other countries, Saab aims to become a strategic technology and innovation partner to the Polish defence stakeholders based on established long-term collaboration in defence research and technology development.
